Millions across America were shoveling their driveways after record-breaking snow storms this year, but one company is looking to change a practice that was once a simple fact of living anywhere snow falls.
This disruption doesn’t just hold promising conveniences for residential property design. Snow and ice removal is one of the major duties of commercial real estate owners. WarmlyYours, the company, seems aware of this and suggests the possibility of cutting back on the risk of lawsuits due to slips, trips, falls and injuries with these mats in its introduction video.
Shoveling doesn’t just mean getting up extra early before work, it means risking injury. Between 1990 and 2006, there were 11,500 snow shoveling-related injuries according to a national study, reports the American Journal of Emergency Medicine.
The mats WarmlyYours designs are intended to be installed beneath asphalt when a driveway is built or resurfaced. For the price of $10 to $20 per square foot, these mats radiate heat to melt the snow away. Its settings are customizable to different specifications like air temperature or moisture levels on the pavement.
