A self-driving vehicle maker for local commerce, Nuro, raised $92 million in two different rounds of Series A funding, reports Finsmes. The Mountain View, CA-based company got the funds in rounds led by Banyan Capital and Greylock Partners respectively.
Nuro’s fully autonomous vehicle redesigns the cost structure of transporting goods, producing a powerful platform for a wide range of goods and services. Co-founded by Dave Ferguson and Jiajun Zhu, Nuro merges software and hardware expertise intended specifically to transport goods between businesses, neighborhoods, and homes.
The vehicle in question is completely unmanned, and half as wide as a passenger car. It’s designed for neighborhoods and built out of ultra-light materials.
